FeLos

FeLo is a metaphor for the city: a Featured Local is someone whose work could only come from one specific place. FeLos impart a flavor of their surroundings into their art, their music, their invention, their business, and in turn, contribute some of their own flavor back to their city. FeLos love the city they’re in, and the city loves them.

Our current FeLo for Miami is entrepreneur Derek Shambora who founded Eco Simplista at the age of twenty-five. Eco Simplista is the first fully dedicated eco-friendly building supply store in South Florida. Check out our interview with Derek to hear his store and life in Miami.
